NEW DELHI: The ongoing disruption in Parliament appears set to continue next week as Congress has leveled serious accusations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The party claims that both leaders are evading parliamentary proceedings amid rising concerns from the Opposition regarding the alleged Ayodhya donation scam.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari did not hold back in his criticism, branding BJP members as “chanda chor” or donation thieves. He focused on accusing the PM of shielding significant figures within the temple trust involved in the scam, while pursuing only lower-level staff. Tiwari asserted that each appointment within the trust was made by Modi himself.
Expressing concerns about the Modi government’s intentions, Tiwari argued that there is an effort to allow the donation theft issue to diminish over time, despite its deep-rooted connection to the beliefs of millions of Indians. He emphasized, “We demand a SC-monitored SIT probe. The SIT formed by the UP govt is fake,” reinforcing the urgency of the matter.
Highlighting the importance of accountability, he stated, “Answers must be given to the country’s 1.4 billion people.” He reiterated Congress’s commitment to making this matter public, vowing to persist in their efforts until those responsible are held accountable. Furthermore, Tiwari indicated that this issue would be raised again in the House on Monday.
