Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao Claims Growing Support for BJP Amid Disillusionment with BRS and Congress

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao asserted on Sunday that residents of the State are increasingly recognizing the BJP as the only credible alternative, fueled by a sense of disillusionment with both the BRS and Congress parties.

Mr. Rao, who is currently attending the 19th American Telugu Association (ATA) Conference and Youth Convention as a special guest in Baltimore, USA, emphasized that the BJP is firmly establishing itself as a significant political player in Telangana. He cited the party’s achievement in winning eight Lok Sabha seats from the State and notable victories in the recent MLC elections, with various surveys indicating a rising public backing for the BJP.

Allegations Against BRS and Congress

During his address, Mr. Rao characterized the BRS and Congress as “two sides of the same coin,” alleging that the two parties collaborated to thwart the BJP candidate in the MLC elections. He further accused the BRS of continuing to align with Congress on several national matters.

Focus on Development and Infrastructure

Highlighting the Centre’s commitment to development, he praised the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its focus on a developed India and Telangana through substantial infrastructure initiatives aimed at job creation. He mentioned Mr. Modi’s strategic leadership, which successfully steered India through the West Asia conflict without facing an oil supply crisis, contrasting this with countries that had to ration fuel.

Entrepreneurship Initiatives

According to Mr. Rao, the Centre is prioritizing entrepreneurship alongside job creation through programs like Startup India, Stand-Up India, and the MUDRA Yojana. As a result, India has developed into the world’s second-largest startup ecosystem. He highlighted the success of Skyroot Aerospace from Hyderabad, which recently launched a rocket into space.

Infrastructure Developments in Telangana

Mr. Rao noted the doubling of airports in the country from 75, with Telangana expecting new airports in Warangal and Adilabad. He also pointed out the establishment of AIIMS and the Central Tribal University, approval of the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City, enhancement of rail manufacturing infrastructure in Kazipet, and support for the PM MITRA Textile Park in Warangal.

Additionally, he mentioned the significant increase in railway allocations, redevelopment of stations, expansion of national highways, free food grain distribution, and the provision of annual assistance of ₹6,000 to eligible farmers under various Central schemes.

The BJP’s narrative aims to position itself as the party of choice for those disillusioned with the existing political framework in Telangana, advocating for development and growth.
