Music Festival Raises Funds for Christmas Dinners

In a bid to support families facing financial difficulties during the festive period, the Greenaway Foundation is hosting its annual music event, Greenaway Live, at the Crawley Rugby Club. Scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM BST on Saturday, the festival is a crucial fundraising initiative for the charity, which aims to collect around £200,000 to aid families in Kent, Sussex, and Surrey.

The Greenaway Foundation’s work revolves around providing all the ingredients necessary for a classic two-course Christmas dinner. By organizing events like Greenaway Live, the foundation endeavors to not only spread festive cheer but also ease some of the financial pressures associated with the holiday season.

Founded by Darren Greenaway, the charity also focuses on bringing joy to children from underprivileged backgrounds. Through their “make a wish for a Christmas present” initiative, the foundation delivers presents to these children on Christmas Eve, a gesture that has been profoundly moving for many of the families involved.

Since its debut in 2025, Greenaway Live has grown significantly. This year’s gathering promises to entertain attendees with live performances, all contributed freely by the artists, reminiscent of a mini Live Aid. In addition, for those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on social media platforms, extending its reach and impact.

Darren Greenaway recalls how he once coordinated the festival while on his honeymoon, emphasizing the commitment and passion behind the project. As the event gains momentum, planning has already begun for the following year, highlighting the community’s growing support for this cause.

The initiative is not only about offering monetary support; it is intended to provide a sense of communal solidarity and holiday spirit, reminding families that they are not alone during taxing times. As the foundation prepares to assist over 1,000 families in the coming year, stories of gratitude and hope continue to inspire the charity’s mission and efforts.
