A family of five had a narrow escape after their car caught fire in Pachal village, near Jolarpet town in Tirupattur, along the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 48) on Saturday.
According to police reports, G. Motilal, a jewellery merchant from Tirupattur, was driving his family home from the Government Medical College Hospital in Krishnagiri when he noticed smoke emanating from the vehicle’s bonnet.
Realizing the danger, Motilal quickly stopped the car and urged his family to exit the vehicle as the flames began to spread rapidly. Emergency services, including firefighters and police personnel from Natrampalli, arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, the car was completely gutted by the blaze.
Fortunately, all family members emerged from the incident unscathed and were subsequently transported to the Government Taluk Hospital in Tirupattur for a precautionary check-up.
Following the incident, the police took steps to remove the burnt vehicle from the roadway, ensuring the safety of other motorists traveling on this busy highway.
