Schools and Anganwadi Centres in N.R. Pura Taluk to Remain Closed on August 1 Due to Heavy Rain

In light of the persistent heavy rainfall in the region, primary schools and anganwadi centres in Sringeri, Koppa, and Balehonnur hobli situated in N.R. Pura taluk of Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka, will be closed on August 1.

The order was issued by the respective taluk tahsildars, declaring a holiday applicable to all government, aided, and unaided primary educational institutions. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of children during these adverse weather conditions.

School administrators have been instructed to plan for compensatory full-day classes on a future holiday or Saturday to make up for the missed instructional time. This initiative aims to mitigate the disruption in education and ensure students remain on track with their studies.

Chikkamagaluru district has been experiencing ongoing moderate to heavy rainfall in several areas over the past few days, leading to concerns about infrastructural safety and well-being of the local population. The continuous downpour has resulted in authorities closely monitoring the situation.

Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling and to stay updated with local weather forecasts. The impact of these weather conditions extends beyond education, affecting daily life and local infrastructure as well.
