The Namma 112 Emergency Response System of the city police proved instrumental in two significant incidents on July 10, successfully rescuing six schoolboys who endeavored to travel to Delhi for cricket coaching without their parents’ consent, and reuniting a missing child with his family.
In the first case, around 10:40 a.m., the management of Jnanadeepa Bhargavi School, located in Allalasandra within the jurisdiction of Yelahanka Police Station, contacted the Namma 112 helpline after six class 8 students were absent from school.
The control room of Namma 112 immediately mobilized the Hoysala personnel, who arrived at the school in under five minutes. During inquiries, a classmate disclosed that the boys intended to travel to Delhi for cricket training.
Upon contacting the parents, it was confirmed that the children had left home for school but had not reached. Utilizing information that one of the boys was in possession of a mobile phone, officers managed to trace its location to KSR Bengaluru (Majestic) Railway Station. Working in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the police located and rescued all six boys before they could depart the city.
The boys were subsequently taken to a Child Care Centre for counselling and legal formalities before being safely reunited with their relieved parents.
Second Incident: Missing Child Found
In an unrelated incident later that day, at approximately 5:11 p.m., a passer-by spotted a young boy standing alone, looking confused near D-Mart in Electronic City, and promptly alerted the Namma 112 helpline.
Police personnel arrived quickly and after conversing with the child, determined his identity and confirmed that his parents resided in Hongasandra. The boy was taken to the police station where officers undertook verification procedures and successfully contacted his parents.
After completing all necessary steps, the child was joyfully reunited with his family, ensuring that both incidents culminated in safe resolutions thanks to the vigilant efforts of the Namma 112 team.
