Exquisite Portrayal of Music Moments at 2026 Photography Awards

The Abbey Road Music Photography Awards 2026 has unveiled its captivating shortlist, featuring remarkable images from Oasis’s triumphant reunion tour and Charli XCX’s memorable Glastonbury performance. This year’s collection highlights the diversity and richness of live music, with 40 finalists chosen from over 24,500 entries worldwide.

One of the standout images includes Liam Gallagher of Oasis, whose enigmatic smile captured through a tambourine, mesmerized fans during a Wembley show. Meanwhile, Charli XCX electrified the audience at Glastonbury by setting the Brat era ablaze, ceremonially marking an end to a significant chapter in her career.

The awards showcase artists across diverse genres, with entries from celebrated performers such as Kendrick Lamar, Fontaines DC, and FKA Twigs, among others. Each selected photograph demonstrates technical mastery and the emotive power of music, affirming music photography’s vibrant role in storytelling.

Anticipating the Winners

The public will have an opportunity to view these visual narratives at Outernet London from 8 to 14 September, featuring LED tunnel displays of all finalist images. Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite ‘Music Moment of the Year’ online or during their visit to the exhibition. The grand ceremony will grace the historic Abbey Road Studios on 24 September, where winners will be unveiled.

Rankin, the head judge, expressed high regard for the submissions, describing them as not only technically superior but also as pieces that truly capture captivating emotions and distinct perspectives. This year also marks a celebration of punk’s 50th anniversary, adding a layer of cultural significance to the event.

Beyond the competition, acclaimed photographers Roberta Bayley and Masayoshi Sukita will be recognized for their contributions to the craft. The esteemed panel of judges, including music legends and contemporary artists, promises an insightful selection process.
