Bobbili Veena Shines at Bhogapuram Airport Inauguration

The renowned traditional string instrument, Bobbili Veena, captured attention once more during the inauguration ceremony of the new Bhogapuram Airport in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. The instrument was presented by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting its significance in the region’s cultural heritage.

In response to this thoughtful gesture, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude through a post on the social media platform X. He emphasized the importance of the Bobbili Veena, stating, “Bobbili Veena has a special place in India’s musical traditions. I am delighted to receive the exquisitely handcrafted Bobbili Ekanda Veena in Bhogapuram. It embodies the skills of AP’s artisans. My compliments to them for preserving the culture of the State.”
