GMR Group Chairman Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao expressed deep joy and emotion at the inauguration of the new international airport in Bhogapuram, located in the Vizianagaram district on Saturday. Mr. Rao, who hails from Rajam within the same district, brings significant expertise from his extensive career in the aviation sector.
The newly constructed airport, attributed to the GMR Group, was completed six months ahead of its scheduled December deadline. Mr. Rao proudly noted the achievement, stating, “The Bhogapuram airport will help spur economic activity in the region, similar to the impact of the Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad.“
He further expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for their unwavering support towards the swift development of this infrastructure project.
The GMR Group is also known for its management of major airports across India, including those in New Delhi and Hyderabad, underscoring its prominence in the aviation industry.
